我们家住在四川东部一个叫黄桷树镇的地方。以用豌豆加工凉粉为生，大哥叶志强的枪法很好，有百步穿杨的工夫，父亲叶老三长年累月在四乡八里收购豌豆，母亲方玉兰实际上成了家里的主心骨。那是一个既黑暗又令人恐怖的年代……。Thomas and Thomas are going through a rough patch: they are both thirty-something actors living in Paris. They randomly decide to leave the city and fly away to Kullorsuaq, one of the most remote villages of Greenland, where Thomas' father Nathan lives.
