《本草中国》第一季以“本草”为切入口，采用主题式分集，以人与药的互动贯穿全片，将人们耳熟能详的中药材通过一群普通药工、药农和药师的故事生动地展现在观众面前，以温暖真实的视觉力量挖掘和记录隐遁的中医药传承人的故事、展现人与本草相生相依的情缘，深度解密中医药文化的奥妙精髓和悠远历史。在传播中医药文化知识的同时，探讨中华传统文化中“感动生命的奥义”，完成一起生生不息的寻觅之旅。。玩具设计师苗和陈误撞强盗抢劫银行，苗因而得知自己有特异功能，能够进入别人的梦中，陈却因此成为痴呆。苗进入陈的梦中，发现至陈重伤的是警官周润发。最终，苗依靠特异功能杀了周，为陈报了仇。。This season began merely two whole weeks after the first season had ended, on April 19, 2008, with the airing of "The Elite Guard", and ended on July 5, 2008, with the two-parter, "A Bridge Too Close".
