2020年，北斗三号全球卫星导航系统建成开通，是我国攀登科技高峰、迈向航天强国的重要里程碑，也是我国为全球公共服务基础设施建设做出的重大贡献。 三集纪录片《北斗》是迄今为止第一部全景式介绍中国北斗卫星导航系统的科学纪录片，分别从导航应用、工程研制、历史人文和全球合作等多个视角，向国内外观众诠释这一航天巨系统工程的特殊价值和时代意义。纪录片由著名表演艺术家濮存晰担任旁白解说和出镜讲述人，他以独特的语言艺术和表现手段，向国内外观众讲述一个关于中国北斗的动人故事。。The film is based loosely around events in December 1995 that culminated in the murders of three drug dealers in Rettendon, Essex, UK.
