本片故事描述一对青年夫妇干将与莫邪共同铸煆雌雄钢剑的经过与结果。干将的好友要离是一位精通音乐的医者，他常与妻子癸姜妹妹眉女在姑苏街头狂歌讥政为民请命，而引起了阖闾的不快与仇视，因此他的幼子被阖闾投炉祭火，妻子也被刺杀，要离更断臂喷毒，莫邪焚香沐浴上隘烘炉，为干将殉情，是而人精物魄，天地同炉，成为名垂兵史的春秋名剑，雄者干将、雌者莫邪。。One of our greatest contemporary filmmakers, Filipino director Lav Diaz, meets a Cuban cab driver, Gustavo Flecha.
