In the aftermath of Catherine's suicide, Detective John Cardinal outwardly accepts the evidence that she took her own life, but when he starts to receive taunting greeting cards blaming him for her death, he begins to question the suicide.。故事发生在1972年,南美的橄榄球队赴智利比赛,飞机于途中撞毁于安第斯山,但部分队员仍然生还.队长安东尼欧带领生还者挣扎着活下去,一边等候救难队的救援,但苦无反应.在大风雪下撑了九天,他们被迫分食死难者的肉维生,并尝试派人下山求援,但无功而返.后来又发生雪崩等灾难,经五十多天后天气渐暖,才剩下十六个人逃出生天。。
