该剧讲述的是女主人公季嫣然与三个男人两个女人间的复杂纠葛，演绎了当代人种种困惑，对美德和情义、背叛和势利做出了全新诠释的故事。。老幺身兼父母双职，带着智障的兄长雷雷一起生活。虽然生活有些清苦，但是老幺也不以为意。两兄弟相依为命，也幸亏隔壁的邻居高媚帮忙，让这两兄弟能够平安地成长。高媚的女儿叶子和隔壁的大宝与这两兄弟是青梅竹马。叶子与老幺两人相爱，叶子生日时，老幺和雷雷在墙上画出了绽放的花儿，这举动深深地感动了叶子。。On Christmas Eve in 1968 six-year-old army brat Clairee simultaneously learns the hard truth about Santa Claus and the realities of war.
