1925年，少女田中绢代与家人一起离开关西来到东京，她立志成为一名女演员。在导演清光宏的强烈推荐下，绢代成了蒲田摄影所的大屋女演员，当时这类演员的薪水只有10到15元而她却破格得到了50元，在清光的作品中她也总能得到好角色。这引来了同僚们的嫉妒，而绢代却并不在意他人的眼光。她的才华得到了五生平之助导演的赏识，当上了《羞愧的梦》一片中的女主演。不久后，她主演的《伊豆的舞女》《爱染桂》等片又大受欢迎。然而她家中却变故连连，姐姐与人私奔，哥哥们自暴自弃，母亲亡故。在保镖仲摩仙吉的鼓励下，绢代渡过了困境。1940年，她通过《浪花女》一片与导演沟内健二相识。11年后，无法适应战后新时代状态低迷的沟内，选择了绢代作为他翻身新作《西鹤一代女》的主演……。A story tells about five students and their professor from Kyiv archaelogical Institute.
