剧情简介
明末，昏君崇祯不断缺陷取苛捐杂税，加深人民的痛苦。农民高良敏因付不出捐税，父子俩都被抓入狱，儿媳张慧珠日夜织绢才将高父子赎回。刚到家，公差就来抽取新税，父子俩连夜去采药被老虎吃了，慧珠的独子宝琏又被抓去，年迈的婆婆被气身亡。索税公差仍向她要税，慧珠一人逃进深山荒野，自刎而死。。In 1902 London, unhappily married Philip Marshall meets young Mary Gray, who is unemployed and depressed. Their deepening friendship, though physically innocent, is discovered by Philip's wife who threatens him with exposure and scandal, driving him to kill her. Thereafter, fortune seems to smile on Philip Marshall| but does fate have a surprise in store?。
