The film describes the extraordinary journey of a young soldier trying to find his place in the chaos su...。丁佩兰（陈秋霞）和王世诚（刘文正）两人感情要好，却遭双方家长反对。佩兰的妈妈，也是知名歌星丁婉玉（陈莎莉）年轻时被情人抛弃，因此不信任男人。世诚（刘文正）的妈妈希望儿子能跟富家千金高婷婷（尹宝莲）交往。世诚妈妈和婷婷连手，想逼迫婉玉母女离开台北，没想到竟因此让佩兰发现自己的身世。心情低落的佩兰和同事戴维（车轩）一起出游，在酒精的催化下，两人发生了关系。佩兰清醒后大受打击，离家出走，但过了不久佩兰就发现自己怀孕了。想不开的佩兰打算跳海轻生，还好被世诚及时发现。世诚依旧对佩兰有情，想和佩兰结婚，但佩兰始终觉得自己对不起世诚，所以选择离开。直至多年后，两人在海边再重逢。。
